The ilume® GALLERIE was established in 2009 as a non-profit arts venue by ilume® developer Lucien (Luke) Crosland. The initial opening show in September 2009 featured the national NOH8 Campaign's first exhibition outside of Los Angeles. Presently showcasing new and established contemporary artists in fine art, sculpture, photography, and jewelry, the gallery's primary mission is to give back to the community. The gallery is also home to "The Faces of Life" by international photographer Jorge Rivas. In September 2011, the gallery hosted the national book tour of Scott Pasfield's "Gay in America", and will present "Hope is Never Silent" this September 2012. Moderndallas.net also hosts the MODART show each April and October featuring the juried talents of established Texas artisans in fine art and furniture. The gallery has contributed to public art, with sculpture and fine art in the public areas of ilume® and the main reading room at the Dallas Public Library, Oak Lawn, and the Oak Lawn thoroughfare.
